The Myth of the "West Bank"
Reclaiming the Truth About Judea and Samaria
Let's just get straight into this; there is no such legal entity as the "West Bank". That label was slapped onto stolen Israeli land by would-be Arab colonisers, and with the help of the anti-Semitic UK establishment and much of the West, particularly Europeans, it has stuck and spread ever since.
The roots of this go back to a shady deal. The British, in exchange for oil rights, handed over 77 percent of the Mandate for Palestine to the Hashemite Monarchy, who promptly renamed it Jordan. The original mandate had been meant to create a Jewish homeland in the region, but Jewish people rightly felt betrayed when the British sold off more than three-quarters of the land to the Arabs. In the end, only a fraction remained for the Jews.
Still, the Jewish leadership accepted the UN settlement that everything west of the River Jordan would become Israel, with everything to the east forming the new Arab state of Jordan. The Arabs, however, would have none of it. They rejected the plan outright because they wanted the Jews gone from the Middle East entirely. Never mind that Jews had lived there continuously for millennia, or that millions more, descendants of those displaced generations earlier, were now returning in the wake of the Holocaust. Instead, the Arabs declared war on the fledgling state of Israel and invaded.
In the course of that conflict, they seized the ancient Jewish heartland of Judea and Samaria. They renamed it the "West Bank" simply because it sits on the western bank of the River Jordan. The new name also served a darker purpose: to erase a huge chunk of Jewish history tied to the land, from the Israelites and Hebrews right through to Jesus Christ himself.
Israel, however, refused to take it lying down. They hit back with everything they had. In just six days, the Israeli forces smashed the invading Arab armies from Jordan, Egypt, Syria and beyond. Those armies had been armed, supplied and supported by Great Britain, while Israel stood alone with no outside help. Yet they fought like lions and forced every last invader back across their own borders, tails firmly between their legs.
Only then did the Western powers really sit up and take notice. The United States in particular recognised that this newly reborn nation had extraordinary military capabilities. Israel could fight, and it refused to be beaten. A strong alliance was born.
This is the real history, not the sanitised, propaganda-filled version that too many cling to. The so-called "West Bank" was never anything more than conquered Jewish land, temporarily lost and then rightfully reclaimed in a war of survival. Judea and Samaria are the proper names, rooted in thousands of years of Jewish history. The truth matters, and it's high time it was told plainly, without apology. Israel didn't just survive against the odds; it triumphed through courage, resilience and an unshakeable connection to its ancestral home. That lion-hearted spirit remains as vital today as it was then.
