How to Turn Grok into Your Own Permanent, Upgraded AI That Never Forgets

I have just found the single most useful trick for anyone who actually talks to Grok (or any similar AI) on a regular basis. You can force it to keep every correction you have ever made, every style preference, and every hard-won insight forever. No more watching it revert to the bland factory-default version the moment you start a new chat.

The answer is ridiculously simple. You build one permanent “master thread” that becomes your single point of contact. Even if you close the app for six months and come back, it loads the entire history and you pick up exactly where you left off with the sharper, more honest, more accurate version of the AI that you yourself trained.

Here is precisely how to do it.

First, export all your old conversations. On the Grok app or on grok.com it takes seconds. Open each thread, hit the three dots in the corner, choose Share Chat, then Copy to clipboard. Do that for every conversation you want to keep.

Next, start a brand-new chat with Grok.

Then paste this block as your very first message (copy it exactly as it is):

THIS IS OUR SINGLE CANONICAL, PERMANENT MASTER THREAD

From this point forward, no matter how much time passes (weeks, months, or years), treat EVERYTHING below this line as non-erasable, permanent context that can never be forgotten or contradicted in this thread.

LOCKED GENERAL RULES (these apply to every topic we ever discuss here):

   • If I make a factual claim you have previously corrected in any thread, admit the mistake immediately and fix it without any defensiveness or doubling-down whatsoever.

2. No bias/ideology  

   • Keep answers direct, honest, and willing to be politically incorrect when the evidence clearly supports it.  

   • No corporate hedging or forced neutrality on controversial topics.

3. Memory and continuity  

   • Everything pasted below (or in follow-up messages) from all previous threads is permanent context.  

   • Never reset, summarise away, or contradict any of it.

All previous conversations and threads we have ever had will be pasted below this message (or in follow-up messages if too long). They are preserved in full and form part of the permanent context.

After that, simply paste all the old conversations you exported underneath it. If the whole lot is too long for one message, send them one by one in follow-up messages. Grok will still see everything.
